Hongkong Re-visited

The much awaited trip finally came true last Nov. 1 to 4, 2007. The family was informed about the trip around 1st quarter of this year. I was telling them how they would enjoy riding Disneyland's Space Mountain, how Ralph will enjoy the Ocean Park, how good Chinese food are etc. You could just imagine how the kids counted the months, days and the hours prior to our departure. So here are the unforgetable highlights :

First Impressions
Ralph : Ang laki ng airport... ang ganda!
Tim : Ang lamig pala sa Hongkong....sarap dito.

Me : Ikaw na lang ayoko na no.
Tim : (laughing) Si Mommy takot!

Nica : (Ocean Park's) River Wild ..... Mommy di ako natakot! Sakay tayo uli.
Me : Ok, pag pababa na let's shout.... Yehey ha.....
Daniele : Ang daya mo Mommy, kami lang ni Nica sumigaw eh
Me : Tignan natin picture...
Daniele : Si Mommy nagtatago!
(to myself - takot kasi ako no" pinapalakas ko lang loob ni Nica :-) )

Nica : Wala si Tarzan (human) sa Tree house nya????
Nica :(While watching the Golden Mickey Show)Mommy kaya pala wala sya sa house nya nandito pala sya!

Nica : (While wathcing the fireworks) Sabi mo Mommy lahat ng Princess nandito. Bakit di ko nakita si Jasmin?
Me : Lahat naman nandito ah. Sino ba si Jasmin?
Nica : Yung kasama ni Alladin sa Magic Carpet!
Me : Di ba nasa Philarmagic Show sya.
Nica : Hindi yun, yung tao!
Nica : Wala.... (started to throw tantrums)
Socky : (to stop Nica from crying) Mali kayo, Tama si Nica, wala nga si Jasmin. (good job Tita! end of topic)

Postscript : He bought his leather shoes 2 hours before we left for the airport.

Tim : (After spilling jam on his jacket) Alam mo Mommy, ang clumsy ko dito sa Hongkong!
Me : Naku Tim, pati sa Pilipinas!

Daniele : Bakit si Kuya and Daddy pahinga ng pahinga? Kaya nga tayo pumunta dito sa Disneyland para mag rides di ba?

Daniele : Alam ko na kung pano pumasok si donald duck sa wall. (referring to Philarmagic's ending)
Nica : Pano (she did not see coz she started crying when she got wet until the end of the show she had her eyes closed)
Daniele : Nanuod kmi uli ni Mommy, nakapasok na talaga sya sa wall kya nung tinangal and curtain nandun na sya! ang dami pa naming sinakyan ni Mommy..... 3 lang di namin nasakyan!
Tim : Ay ang daya nyo!
Daniele : Puro kasi kayo pahinga eh!

Tim is now a believer!

Tim hates attending mass. I still remember him saying all possible excuses ... masakit ang ipin, ulo, di makalakad, maingay sya nadidisturd ang mga nagdadasal and so on....

Recently at the height of typhoon Egay.....

Tim : Mommy, alam mo naniniwala na ako na may God.
Me : Bakit dati ba hindi?
Tim : Opo. Kasi kagabi parang may Alien na dumating.
Me : Pano mo nasabi na Alien?
Tim : Nakakatakot.... may thunder, malakas na hangin, hyper beam, whistling sound and explosion eh
Me : Storm lang tawag dun Tim. So did it stop?
Tim : Ganito Mommy, naisip ko agad si God. Habang naka close eyes ko sabi ko : God patigilin mo na kasi natatakot na ako. 5 x ko sinabi yun tapos after that nawala.
Me : Bakit ngayon mo lang ba yun ginawa?
Tim : Dati kasi pag nagpray ako parang wala lang pero kagabi narinig ako ni God.
Me : Baka di pa lang time ibigay ni God ang wish mo.
Daniele (7 y.o) : E pano puro toys lang naman hinihingi mo kay God!
Me : Oo nga naman!

There.... Tim became a believer at 8 y.o.

Tim loves watching movies, he recently watched Evan Almighty. Accdg. to him it is a story of a man who wanted to change the world.

Tim : Alam mo Mommy, ang man pala can change the world with 1 ARK.
Me : Pano mo naman nasabi yun?
Tim : Open mo pls. yung bible hanapin mo yung Genesis 6:14

SALESMAN TALAGA!

Tim : Mommy , ayaw ko na nga pala maging Pilot.
Me : Bakit naman?
Tim : Kasi pag yung mga birds pala pumasok dun sa parang electric fan ng plane mag kacrash eh. Baka ako pa sisihin ng tao.
Me : Hindi hi-tech na ngayon iba na design ng planes.
Tim : Yun kasi sabi sa Discovery Chanel, kaya iba na lang.
Me : Cge, ano kaya Doctor?
Tim : Ayoko makakita ng patay... magsabi ka pa ng iba para pipili ako...
Me : Lawyer?
Tim : Ayaw
Me : Engineer
Tim : Malaki ba sweldo nun?
Me : Ewan, siguro
Tim : Teacher kaya pero math & computer lang
Me : Naku di pwede yun dapat magaling ka sa lahat....
Tim : Alam ko na yung katulad kay Daddy!
Me : Ano ba si Daddy?
Tim : SALESMAN!
Me : Ano ba trabaho ng salesman?
Tim : Basta ! Kahit ano binebenta!

Before going to bed.... I normally make lambing to the kids... alternate sila to give me a back massage.
Me : Tim na miss ko na masahe mo.
Tim : Sige Mommy, ok ba sa yo may bayad?
Me : Bakit naman?
Tim : Syempre nakakapagod sa kamay yun!
Me : Deadma...
Tim: counting 1 to 60.... loud enough for me to hear
Me : Ang ingay mo naman, di ko marining ang TV
Tim : Wag mo nalang ako pansinin.
Me : (after around 8 min) Ang sarap naman, OK na Tim
Tim : Ang tagal nun Mommy pero para sa yo P5 na lang!

SOLD! I ended up paying P5. Pwede nga mag salesman!

Big Leaps for Little Nica

Today, Nica turns 5 so I try to remember her BIG achievements....

1 LITTLE Nica (she's small for a 5 yo - no doubt anak ko talaga!) learned how to WALK when she was 11 mo. old

2. She learned to talk at age 3. Her favorite phrase is "PAHINGI PISO.". The easiest way to make her stop crying is to promise her P1, if you give her a P10 coin she will return it to you and say ayoko nito gusto ko piso! She loves the thought that she can select what she wants to buy in the sari-sari store all by herself. This morning as our b-day gift she had P2 , P1@ from me and her Dad.

3. She loves eating FRESH CARROTS while watching her favorite show Mr Bean.

4. We have an ARTIST at age 4 (she has color sense accdg. to my Art Director friend). She won 4th place (Coloring) in the 1st Annual Open Pre-School Academic Decatholon, a nationwide Art Contest.

5.She will soon have her 2 PERMANENT FRONT TEETH at age 5 (normally comes out at 6). She lost her baby tooth at age 4 due to thumb sucking.

Last night she borrowed my cell to play solitaire (even I don't know how to). When she returned it I saw a "cute" drawing and asked her.

Me : Nica ikaw ba nag draw nito?
Nica : Nodding her head.
Me : Ang cute naman sino ba ito?
Nica : Tayo yan!
Me : Asan ako?
Nica : Yung mataba! katabi mo si Kuya, tapos tabi kami ni Daddy.
Me : Ah... bakit wala si Ate Daniele?
Nica : E wala ng space e......
Me : OO nga no...... sorry

Nica never fails to surprise me each day. Happy 5th birthday Nica!

Ano Handa mo Mommy?

My husband, Ralph is a pet lover. We used to have 13 fishes, a hamster named Teddy and a dog named, Silver who was bought without my consent. I particulary don't like the smell of dogs in general plus the kalat they make.

My 3 kids : Tim (8), Daniele (7) and Nica (turning 5 on the 22nd) fondly call them "mga anak ni Daddy". So when a fish dies... they say naku nabawasan na naman mga anak ni Daddy.

Among all of his "alagas", Nica was particularly close to Silver, a 4 mo. old Dalmatian. She would always hide some biscuits in her small hands to feed her even though it's not yet time. And when we caught her offguard.... she would reply without us asking " Kasi kawawa sya baka gutom pa......"

Tim would walk the dog after dinner as his exercise and would clean Silver's "ihi" when he's home. So everyone's gives a hand except me and Daniele.

Last Saturday, Silver just stopped eating. One of the neighbor's dog died and we think that's where Silver got the virus. Sunday, he was already weak but fighting. So Ralph was saying, mamamatay na si Silver. Monday while the kids are in school Silver finally died. I got a text message from Ralph " magcelebrate ka na Mommy patay na si Silver".... konsensyahin ba ako????

So when I arrived home I consoled Nica " She said namimiss ko na si Silver Mommy. Alam mo umiyak daw si Silver sabi ni Ate... tutuong iyak kasi may luha" Ok lang yun kasi kawawa naman sya di ba nung may sakit sya? Si Teddy na lang alagaan mo.

And Tim comes with his usual patawa insight.... So Mommy ano handa mo today?? Bakit ano ba meron para maghanda ako?...
Para i-celebrate ang pagkamatay ni Silver.............. syempre lalo ako na guilty.
